StockAgents

Toronto, ON·Jan. 2026 – Oct. 2026

AI driven financial intelligence startup

  • Founding Engineer

    WHAT I DID

The data side was mine: the ingestion and the storage that everything else reads off. I shipped features end to end, ran the deploys myself, and picked up whatever broke after. This experience made me confident that I can build anything.

    • Built the serverless ingestion pipeline on Lambda, SQS and EventBridge. It pulls hourly options data for over four thousand tickers and runs a hundred odd calculations over it into MongoDB.
    • Backfilled five years of daily stock and options history with parallel, batched requests, held under the API rate limit of three thousand a minute.
    • Built the provider layer the agents run on, with OpenAI, Gemini and Perplexity behind one interface. Each keeps a thread going through its own response id rather than by resending the conversation every turn.
    • Kept a registry of about two dozen models carrying per million token pricing and what each one supports, so a call could be costed and routed before it was made.
    • Wrote the layer that reads a written investment thesis and turns it into structured intent and follow up questions in a single pass.
    • Set up deploys to ECS Fargate on merge to main through GitHub Actions.

Keel Digital Solutions

Toronto, ON·May 2025 – Jul. 2026

Mental health software company

  • Software EngineerSep. 2025 – Jul. 2026

    WHAT I DID

Stayed on full time after the internship, on the backend of a mental health platform. Mostly features end to end: the endpoints, the tables underneath them, and the performance work when something needed to be faster.

    • Messaging was slow enough to be noticeable, so I went and rewrote the query behind it. It came back about ten times faster.
    • Shipped REST endpoints with pagination and filtering, and the database tables for a new product feature, custom consent forms.
    • Moved production logging onto contextLogger so it all lands in Elastic with context attached.
    • Wrote up how to wire the model built by the external ML team into the backend, for the rest of the team to build on.
    • Stayed on the product team and the awards committee after converting from the internship.
  • Software Engineering InternMay 2025 – Aug. 2025

    WHAT I DID

Started here as an intern, and put real effort into getting involved past the work I was handed. I got a feel for how a production system actually operates, and how the whole development cycle works, from the back and forth with the QA and frontend team.

    • Wrote and tested migration scripts, with check constraints to keep the data honest.
    • Ran end to end tests in Docker across platforms, with AVA covering unit and integration.
    • Extended a local Keycloak registration token with custom user attributes and wired them through the API.
    • Investigated and patched a set of high risk security vulnerabilities.
    • Joined one of the product teams, helping define requirements and review outputs while they worked with an external ML team.
    • Sat on the awards committee.

Blockhouse

New York City, remote·Sep. 2024 – Dec. 2024

Financial technology startup

  • Software Engineering Intern

    WHAT I DID

My first proper engineering job, on a small fintech team in New York. I lived in the Django backend, implementing new REST API endpoints, conducting automated testing, and integrating services like Sentry and Datadog for monitoring.

    • Built REST endpoints and fixed production bugs as they came in.
    • Wrote Selenium tests for the user flows nobody wanted to click through by hand every release.
    • Set up Sentry and Datadog so we could see errors and latency instead of guessing at them.

Data Annotation

Remote, freelance·May 2024 – Feb. 2025

Freelance LLM training and data refinement

  • AI Trainer

    WHAT I DID

Freelance work training large language models, picked up alongside school. The whole job was to be the person who notices when a model is confidently wrong, which is a habit I have not been able to switch off since.

    • Wrote coding prompts across about a dozen languages for instruction tuning, on models including BART and Gemini.
    • Compared competing responses side by side and ranked them on correctness, instruction following, and whether the model had actually understood what was asked.
    • Reviewed output for hallucinations, and corrected several hundred answers, mostly logic that looked right and was not.

Marathon

Nov. 2023

I never thought I was a runner. Six months before this I had never run more than 3 kilometres. An official marathon is 42.2 km, but I kept going and finished at 46. Definitely my proudest moment.

First Line of Code

Toronto, ON·Nov. 2022

I randomly took an introduction to computer science course as a biology major because I needed an elective, and I'd always hear people say that coding's an important skill and everyone should know how to code a bit. I found the course to be quite challenging, and I even remember struggling with simple things like "for loops", but I loved the challenging aspect of it, and found it to be quite mentally stimulating. After this single course I decided that I was going to start studying computer science :)

    Financial Agent Platform·Jan. 2026

Democratizing finance. Quant level data has always sat behind an institutional paywall, so this puts a deterministic engine on top of an LLM and hands that read to anyone.

    Paper Trading Platform·Nov. 2025

You are with friends, everyone is talking about their bets and placing wagers, and you do not want to risk real money. It feels awkward being the only one sitting out. So this is a paper trading platform: live odds, real parlays, simulated stakes.

    Vision Pro App·Sep. 2024·team project

Reading on a screen is passive and easy to drift out of, so we rendered the page into the room instead. Equations become graphs you can manipulate with your hands, and molecules become 3D models. And if something on the page raises a question, a built in chatbot answers it with that page already in context.

    Analytics Engine·Feb. 2024·team of 4

Everyone reaches for development when they explain a change in house prices, but nobody thinks to measure it from orbit. So we built a system that reads years of satellite imagery, works out how much an area has actually been built up over that time, and uses it as the predictor: development turns out to be positively correlated with further price increases.

Built for my own use while I play through the games, to get a proper handle on how type matchups work and what actually makes a team good. I am writing one agent by hand and one with LangChain, both aimed at building competitive teams, largely to see how differently the two approaches behave.

    productivityautomation

    Chrome Extension·Jul. 2025

Sits between its trainer and ONE PACE between nine and seven. Roughly one hundred hours were recovered and immediately spent elsewhere.

    private repo
    ▼ MORE

    WHY

I was losing too much of the day to One Pace, the sped up cut of One Piece, so I set myself a rule: none of it between nine in the morning and seven at night. This extension is what enforces the rule. Load the site inside those hours and it redirects me to a One Piece meme telling me to lock in.

    Legal Marketplace·May 2025

Matches lawyers and clients on specialty, rate and rating, then gets out of the way. Finding counsel takes minutes where it used to take an afternoon.

    private repo
    ▼ MORE

    WHY

A matching platform for two sides that have trouble finding each other. A lawyer just starting out, with no firm behind them, has no real way to reach clients, and someone who needs defending has no real way to find counsel at a price they can afford. This puts the two in front of each other.

    Web App·May 2024

Finds the hours two people can actually share, then makes the plan on their behalf. It also keeps a record of how far each person is worth bending for.

    ▼ MORE

    WHY

Built so you do not lose time with the people who matter. It helps you create and schedule meetings and sets the reminders, and it lets you give each person a compromise score, so how far you are willing to bend and how often you want to see them both feed into the plan.

    UFC Fight Analytics

    mlsports

    Analytics Engine·Mar. 2024

Turns 7,418 fights into numbers and goes looking for what holds. Heavyweight bouts end in knockouts far more often than the rest, and five models argue over the patterns that are less obvious.

    ▼ MORE

    WHY

I wanted to know whether fight outcomes are genuinely predictable or just good narrative after the fact. So I took 7,418 UFC fights and put five different models against them to see which, if any, could beat a coin flip.

A fitness app you could actually search. It pulls exercises from an API and lets you filter by type, difficulty and muscle group, then keeps the ones worth repeating. Built to a clean architecture, with the use cases separated from the UI.

I build software end to end: mostly web apps, AI agents, and internal tools that get used the day they ship. I'm looking for problems I don't know how to solve yet, and a team I learn a ton from, at a company doing something real with AI, not just a chatbot on top of an old product. I'm always building something, and I do my best work on small teams with short feedback loops, where a first version ships the same night I get the idea.
